During their teacher led sessions on Monday, Orcas used the natural environment to help them create number sentences. The children had to search the forest area to find natural items to help them represent numbers. Once they had completed this task, they combined their numbers to create a number sentence for another group to solve.
Dolphins read the Greek Myth, 'Daedalus and Icarus.' After this, the children re-enacted the story in small groups with the aim of remembering the key points.
Otters used the art work of Friedensreich Hundertwasser to inspire them in their printing work and creation of lollipop tree designs.
For their forest school activities, the children focused on the colours in their environment. They each created rainbow strips using natural materials. This activity is a great way to assess their individual schematic learning style.
