Parent/Carer letter - School Closure

Dear Parent/Carer, Apologies for another letter but I felt it was important to keep you informed of what is happening at school. Following yesterday’s announcement regarding the closure of schools to all pupils with the exception of ‘vulnerable’ children or those of key workers, we have been working hard with other schools in Education South West, across Devon and the country, to put in place practical arrangements to make this work. From Monday 23rd March, Kingswear Primary will be closed. Certain children who fit the government definition will receive their educational provision at Dartmouth Academy where they will be supervised by staff from their own school. Dear Parent/Carer, COVID-19 As the national situation develops rapidly, we are continuing to follow DfE and Public Health England advice, whilst also trying to take decisions that are in the best interests of our communities. We are trying to chart a course that reconciles our duty to keep schools open with our responsibility to promote social distancing. Schools across Education South West are taking the following steps: Planned parents’ evenings for the rest of this term are cancelled. Public performances are cancelled. All sports fixtures are cancelled until further notice. A decision on whether or not to run trips that have been scheduled after May half term will be taken and communicat

Letter to parents/carers COVID-19 (3.3.20)

Dear Parents/Carers You will have heard yesterday on the news that a number of schools in Torbay closed due to potential cases of coronavirus. This is obviously worrying for you as parents, and we appreciate the calm way that you have responded. At a time like this, and there has not been a time like this of late, there are many rumours and concerns. We just wanted to reassure you that we are taking any potential issue seriously, and are in very regular contact with Public Health England; all our decisions will be informed on the medical advice we receive from them. At the moment, we are very much open for business, and we are doing all we can to ensure that the environment is a healthy o
